By the end of the day, it was obvious that I wasn't very comfortable about the job. I could not help breathing heavily, complaining that delivering lunch all day long had worn me out. Upon reaching home, I did not feel like doing anything but lying on my bed. Having noticed my weariness, my grandmother walked up to me and told me a surprising fact, which mad me sit up straight. “For a lot of the people we deliver to, this is their only meal of the day."
My eyes widened, and I turned to her. "Their only meal?" My grandmother nodded with a smile. Not until that moment did I realize how much the elderly were in need of the lunch grandma delivered. So significant the delivery was that they would starve for a whole day without grandma's presence. At the same time, my complaints and tiredness were gone, for I had understood the value I helped create for the elderly. It dawned on me that the true meaning of life never lies in asking more for myself. Instead, using what I have to help others will in turn bring me more happiness.
