Write a recount is to retell a story or activity you did in detail. You need to include an introduction, a body and a conclusion.
1. How to write an introduction
First, you need to make an action plan, so you can use a pencil or anything that you can write with on paper. Draw a little box or just use the paper, you don't have include many details because in the body part you're going to include lots of details.
In an introduction part you have to answer the questions of who, when and where. And then you have to write a sentence or two to answer the three questions, usually only one sentence, that has to make sense.
For example, "The beauty and beast show, in April, grade one to grade seven went to the beauty and beast show at Stoney creek public school. "
After you write a sentence that make sense, your introduction is done, and end with a punctuation.
2. How to write a body
First you need to make an action plan you can write on paper like the introduction. You need to know what you're writing about, think about your action plan you can write on paper and see if it makes sense.
Then you need to use sequence words "first, next, then, after and finally" for each sentence. When you're done, you can start to write the body.
In the body you have to include lots of details, if you don't include details, the person reading it does not know what you're talking about. So you have to use lots and lots of details, and also remember to include sequence words "first, next, then, after and finally".
And you have to write in the past tense.
And use a punctuation at the end of each sentence, for example, a period or an exclamation mark .
3. How to write a conclusion
The conclusion is the last thing you need to write in a recount. You have to tell the person who is reading it your personal opinion or feeling about the day, a trip or the thing you did.
After you wrote the introduction, the body and the conclusion, you're done writing a recount.
Today at school we made an action plan about a fire drill or a tornado drill, and tomorrow we are going to write the introduction, the body and the conclusion about it.
