口语小问题:1.Tell us news you recently read. What is it? How people reacted?and what's your opinion?2.Are books and newspapers always telling the truth?
Here is a piece of local news.
One day when I was working ,one of my collegues told us a piece of bad news. My collegue said two gilrls who lived in a building which wasn't that far from our company died because of an elevator accident. When the elevator door opened ,they stepped in ,fell down from the eleventh floor to the fourth floor, and died right there and then. What a tragedy. They didn't notice the elevator failed to come because they were using their phones.Their famililes were so heartbroken that their cries could be heard all over the building.
People who heard this news were so sad .Some people said the elevator accident could happen to any of us .They really hoped those who were responsible for taking care of the elevator should fulfill their duties well.At the same time ,they tought it was such a pity that two young girls died when the accident could be avoided if their eyes weren't sticked to their phone screens.
Similar accidents are happening all the time.Maybe the workers who checked the elevator just failed to check it once ,maybe the two girls were just careless once .Tragedy happpened.Little mistake can sometimes cost too much.Life is so valuable that we can never be too careful to make sure we're far away from accidents.
I don't think the books and newspapers are always telling the truth.Truth can be got through sincere, object and thorough collection of information. If related workers fail to complete such kind of work ,truth won't be obtained. There are also cases where related workers have true information ,they can't write it out because of different reasons. For example, they fear that truth will have nagative influnce on society, or they worry that truth won't get people's attention that they will make some changes to the truth.
