Whether a joke is considered to be funny or not largely depends on where the admirer has been brought up. The sense of humor is mysteriously bound with national
characteristics. Therefore, it might be hard for native men to laugh at alien jokes.
Comedians often create amusing stituation which enable us to enjoy the funny stories.
In spite of national differences, certain funny situations will cause univeral mirth among pepole. This can be illustrated by Charle Chaplin's early films. However, a new type of humor, which starts largely from the U.S., has recently become popular. This type of
humor called 'sick humor' is so based on tragic situations like violent deaths or serious accidents that most people find it highly offensive. For instance, a man who had broken his right leg was sent to hosptial a few weeks before Christmas. Though he was eager
to spend Chirstmas at home, the man still had to spend a misrable Christmas Day in
bed because of his badly injured leg. The following day, he felt glad for the doctor
informed him that he could leave hospital before New Year celebrations. Though he
had a good day at the party on New Year's Eve, at the end of the party he happened to slip on a piece of ice and broke his left leg because of overdrunkness. Unfortunately,
the man had to return back to the hospital again.
