Chapter 1 Welcome to the Laboratory

The most popular scientist of the world-Dr. Mystery vanishes! My father read the title of the news aloud. I smiled, however bitterly.

Indeed, Dr. Mystery will never show up, ever again. He has gone to a world which should no longer exists-the Jurassic epoch. And I was the one to sentence him. It seems I am the guilty one, but this story will shock you.

My name is JKF, short for Jason Kendrick Franklin, an ordinary student from the only primitive middle school in our land. My dream was the same with all the teenage boys-to meet Dr. Mystery, the cleverest man on Earth.

This morning, after I was woke by the noisy brainwave alarm from my class teacher, while checking emails from my degital glasses, a breaking news caught my eyes: Hi Jason, I’m Dr. Mystery. I am honored to invite you to visit my laboratory in Oxbridge at 8:00 this morning, I’ve asked my assistant to send you the location of our lab. I’m looking forward to seeing you!

The happiness suddenly fell on me, I had just got the chance which millions of boys would be jealous to death. With this feeling of being superior, I happily jumped in my favorite T-shirt and jeans with the illustration of one of Dr. Mystery’s greatest inventions-automatic dinosaur robot on it. A professional researcher of the brainwave delivery system had claimed in his research that the robot of Dr. Mystery was exactly like the dinosaurs which lived billions of years ago even long before the occurrence of homo-sapiens. How did Dr. Mystery know the appearance of dinosaurs, he was just a genius! I thought.

“Mom, I’m not going to school today! Dr. Mystery was calling for me!” I shouted with excitement. “What did you just said? Who was calling for you? ” “Dr. Mystery! The cleverest man!” “Stop day-dreaming, Jason.” She sighed. “What does a person like that need you for? ” My excitement exceeded my consciousness but that fact proved that she was right.
