They're a start-up called Brainspark. They make computer games.

Alex:

That sounds exciting! So what are they offering you?

Stella:

Well, they've offered me a one-year contract at 28,000 dollars a year.

They're also offering me some stock options and health insurance, too.  【朗读】

HR will email me with more details later today.  【跟读】

Yeah. This other company is giving me a 40,000-dollar salary.

They provide full health insurance and 15 days annual paid leave.

And they also provide an employee training program throughout the year.

Alex:

Well, I think this is a better offer.

Why haven't you accepted it yet? 【跟读】

Stella:

I'm not sure if it's a good fit for me.

It's a large corporation, so there is more structure.

Alex:

Sure, larger companies are more bureaucratic.

bureaucratic  adj. 官僚的;官僚政治的

But are you really going to take BrainSpark's offer?

Stella:

I'm very attempted.

They have a smaller team.

I can have hands-on experience with different aspects of the business there.

Most importantly, I believe they're a company with great potential. 【跟读】

Maybe they can even go public in a few years.

Who knows!

【朗读】She doesn't want to join the large company because they are more bureaucratic.

【朗读】Their small team would give her more hands-on experience with different parts of the business.

Alex:

Yeah, then those stock options they're offering you can be worth something.

But for now, I think you should hear more about the benefits before you make a decision.  【填空】【朗读】

Just make sure working there is really worth it.  【跟读】

Stella:

I will. Thanks for your advice.

I'll call you when I get the email from HR.

Cool. Talk to you soon!

Bye for now!
