Today I went to church with Ling’s family. It turned out to be a board meeting held per quarter. What was different from usual was there would be an additional speech given by a president. Here are several points cited which can be thought-provoking.
1.The four dimensions of health include physical health, mental health, social health and spiritual health. A healthy life is to strike a balance in all four dimensions.
2.No man is an island and human beings do not thrive if being isolated.
3.Faith is a principle of action and power that motivates our day-to-day life.
After the conference, everyone could get access to a buffet served with dishes donated by every family. I did not know this arrangement, and Jenny comforted me she has prepared chicken wings. I assume it will take some time before I can show others my cooking skills. By the way, the Lamington Cake tasted fantastic and it has become one of my favourite desserts!
In the afternoon, I went to the swimming pool located in the Blacktown Leisure Center. It has been over half a year since I went swimming last time. Although the facilities are not so well-equipped as expected, the employees there are friendly and helpful and the admission fee is well-priced (only $6). Also, it was not packed with people, which enabled me to swim freely. While having a pause, I heard a little boy shout "Help, help!" However, when I took a glance at him, he said with a grin, "I am just kidding!" So adorable a little creature!
PS 1: In the afternoon, while everyone was relaxing in the family room, Gerry said, "Mr. Zhou is calling me." I looked at him, having no idea what he was talking about. He explained to me in Chinese "Zhou Gong(周公)" but I heard it as "Zhao Gong(招工)". I got even confused until Jenny explained it to me again. Hahaha, wish you a nice afternoon nap...
PS 2: On the way to church, I consulted Jenny the difference between "trailer" and "roof rack". Initially, I did not know how to say "roof rack" and when Jenny said the word, I heard it as "roof rat". I just wondered, what was the relationship between a mouse with a frame thing. Hahaha, my poor listening skills need to be improved urgently...
