背景
今天是犹太教的赎罪日(Yom Kippur),我本人其实没有宗教信仰,至少现在没有,有点儿倾向于佛系吧。流疫期间为了阻止一位独居的长者亲身去犹太会堂祈祷,我们决定十几个人陪她一起通过视频祈祷。
在犹太教赎罪日,信徒要唱希伯来语的Unetanneh Tokef,这个祷告大意是上帝在赎罪日会审查生死薄,来决定明年谁生谁死。在这一天,信徒会禁食祈祷,希望赎回过去一年里所犯的过错。
"Unetanneh Tokef"有很多不同的版本,我先听了里奥纳德·科恩(Leonard Cohen)的《谁会被火烧》,是他老年时录制的版本,马上被深深地吸引和震撼了。他的这一版本最初是1974年发表的,歌词里的“And who shall I say is calling?”是他对这个教义的质疑。他的这一版本比较现代,内容也与时共进,比如提及毒品、安眠药等等,他的诗意比较暗,更侧重于如何死。
我在网上查看这首歌(诗)的中文翻译时,发现可能因为译者不懂得这首歌的渊源,几个版本️翻译得都有点儿不着边际,所以忍不住也翻译了一下。
