唯唯诺诺的"Hi I am Emma, Nice to meet you.  Sorry,my English  is not good"

That was my opening when I talked with the foreigner in the university.

I was born in a small village, start learning English from my middle school. English score is only 108 on the college entrance examination which total is 150.  Thanks to my Chinese and Mathmatic teacher. Without the good score from them, I have no chance to enter QD university.

My major is international trade only because of on 2002 China entered WTO and International trade is suppose to be a good major. One day, I had a chance to be a translator as part time job during an Iron ore trade fair.

As usual, I started my conversation with my opening “Hi I am Emma, sorry, my English is not good". The foreigner said: It should be ok.

"No no no my English is really not good". Then the boss changed another student as the traslator. I lost my part time job.

Time flies, I graduated from my university and found a job in a trade company.  Most time we contact with our clients by mails. With the support of  google translation , everything goes well.

But sometimes, we need to have face to face meeting with buyer.

It is not difficult to talk something regarding orders.But as sales I also have to talk with buyer about  the habit, the favorite restaurant, travelling story during break time and dinner time.

Looking at the boss near me, I stopped myself to say  "sorry my English is not good. "

You know, It is really not easy to find a job. I have another weapon-SMILE.

When I don't know how to reply, smile. That's why my smile is so beautiful now.

But even I have good price and beautiful smile, I still can not get my orders. I know I have no option but to improve my English.

After one year working, I spent all my money on one English lessons. 22800 per year. I believe it will change my English and my life.

I went to the school and met with my foreign teacher.

As usual I told my teacher, sorry my English is not good and keep Smile.  After one hour class The teacher told me: oh Emma, Your English is much better than most foreigners. You just need to beleive yourself and speak out!

If I can not talk with my clients as a table topic speech, at least I can make it as prepared speech.

I have worked more than 13 years in this trade company.

I talked with India people, they said like "Have you reserved a room in Newdelhi hotel?

I talked with Bangladesh people, they tell me: We will pick up you at Tree?

Tree? Which tree?Finally I Know it means three.

Their English is not standard,but they always speak out as a native speaker.

Maybe my english pronouciation is not perfect enough, but even not all Chinese people can say Madarin without any accent.

Even George's Madarin is not so perfect, it never stop him to make a good speech.
