Since respect for elders is very important in Chinese culture. there is a special festival dedicated to remembering one's ancestors.

This festival is called the Qingming Festival.
The words 'qing ming ' literally means 'clear' and 'bright'-quit a fitting description of the beautiful weather around this time of the year.
清明的字面意思就是“清晰”而“明亮”，很适合描述一年之中的这个时刻。
During the Qingming festival .Chinese families visit the graves of their ancestors to sweep away dust and fallen leaves in order to keep the family tombs clean .
每到这个时节，一家子就会祖先墓地清理杂草和落叶，给以修葺圆整，故曰：扫墓。
In Mandarin we call this outing ta qing which translates to "stepping on green",rederring to the soft green grass pon which families gather to play and eat.
