第二章内容简介
Wilbur, the small pig, who was rescued by Fern from her father's ax, started to lead the most beautiful life in Fern’s home.
威尔伯,这只被弗恩从她父亲斧头下救下的小猪，开始在弗恩家度过了他人生中最美好的日子。
The place where Wilbur lived had changed more than three times:
威尔伯住的地方几经更改:
For the first few days of his life, Wilbur was allowed to live in a box near the stove in the kitchen.Then when Mrs. Arable complained, he was moved to a bigger box in the woodshed. At two weeks of age, he was moved outdoors.
在他刚出生的前几天，威尔伯住在厨房的火炉旁；阿拉贝儿女士抱怨之后，他搬到了柴房的大箱子里住；在他两周大的时候，他又搬到了户外住。
Fortunely, no matter where he lived, Fern took good care of him.
幸运的是，不管他住在哪里，弗恩都把他照料的很好。
Fern loved Wilbur more than anything. She loved to stroke him, to feed him, to put him to bed.
弗恩爱威尔伯胜过其他一切，她喜欢抚摸他，喂他，让他睡觉。
Every morning after breakfast, Wilbur walked out to the road with Fern and waited with her till the bus came.
每天早晨吃完早饭后，威尔伯就会和弗恩一起散步到路边，和她一起等车。
Every day was a happy day, and every night was peaceful. However, such days came to an end when Wilbur was five weeks old.
每一个白天都充满快乐，每一个夜晚都无比祥和。然而，这样的好日子在威尔伯五周大的时候就到头了。
Mr. Arable thought he was now big enough to sell, and would have to be sold even though Fern broke down and wept. But he insisted on it. Fern didn't nod until Mr. Arable advised Fern to sell Wilbur to her Uncle Homer Wilbur goes there to live, you can walk down the road and visit him as often as you like
阿拉贝尔先生觉得威尔伯已经大到能卖了，而且必须被卖掉，尽管弗恩哭闹着不答应，但他仍然坚持。弗恩也一直不肯点头答应，直到阿拉贝尔先生向弗恩建议，可以将威尔伯卖给她的赫姆叔叔，这样的话，她就可以经常去看他，弗恩才妥协。
Finally，Wilbur was sold to Fern's Uncle Homer at a price of six dollars. Then Wilbur was taken from his home under the apple tree and went to live in a manure pile in the cellar of Zuchkerman's barn.
最终，威尔伯以六美元的价钱被卖给了弗恩的赫姆叔叔。接着，威尔伯就从他苹果树下的家给搬到了朱克曼家谷仓底的肥料堆里。
The new life for Wilbur in Fern’s Uncle ’s home (Mr. Zuckerman)began.
威尔伯开始了在弗恩叔叔(朱克曼先生)家的新生活。
A Brief Introduction of Chapter 3
第三章内容简介
At the beginning，Fern came almost every day to visit him. Here she sat quietly during the long afternoons, thinking and listening and watching Wilbur.
开始的时候，弗恩几乎每天都来看望他。漫长的午后，她就那么安静地坐着，盯着威尔伯发呆，听威尔伯"说话"，观察威尔伯。
However, one afternoon in June, when Wilbur was almost two months, Fern had not arrived for her usual visit. Wilbur was so sad that he didn't know what to do.
然后，在六月的某个下午，这时的威尔伯差不多两个月大了，弗恩没有像往常一样来看他。威尔伯非常伤心，他不知道该去做什么。
He didn't feel like going to sleep, he didn't feel like digging, he was tired of standing still, tired of lying down. "I'm less than two months old and I'm tired of living," he said.
他不想睡觉，不想挖洞，他讨厌一动不动地站着，他也讨厌躺着。"我都还不到两个月大，可我居然已经厌烦活着了"他感叹说。
At that time, the goose(one of his neighbors) told him that one of the boards was loose and he could ran out of the barn to search for his freedom.
这时，鹅(他的一位邻居)告诉他篱笆的一块木板松了，他可以从那里逃出谷仓，去寻求自由。
This was the begining of Wilbur's first escape, an escape which was accidental with no plan and no aim.
这就是威尔伯的第一次逃跑，这次逃跑纯属偶然，没有计划也没有目的地。
The first person who found his escape was Mrs. Zuckerman. Then everybody knew his escape and all of them tried to catch him. But actually, it was Wilbur himself that gave up escaping. That was to say, Wilbur's first escape was at an end of failure. He came back to the barn.
第一个发现他逃跑的是朱克曼女士。接着所有人都知道他逃跑了，并试图将他抓住他。但实际上，是威尔伯自己放弃了逃跑。
My thinking
我的思考
In my point of view, the first escape of Wilbur was doomed to failure. The reasons were as the following.
在我看来，威尔伯的第一次逃跑是注定会失败的。理由如下。
Firstly, this escape was at whim.To be honest, Wilbur at this moment had no reason to escape. You may say that he was in blue mood, that was the reason.
第一: 本次逃跑是一时兴起的。对于当下的威尔伯来说，他并没有逃跑的理由。你也许会说他心情不好啊，这就是理由。
Actually, Wilbur felt queer to be outside his fence, with nothing between him and
the big world.
实际上，突然站在篱笆外的感觉对威尔伯来说太奇怪了，特别是在他和这个世界之间没有任何东西。
Secondly,the days before his escape were too beautiful.
第二:他逃跑之前的日子过得太过美好。
Thirdly, during his escape,the instructions from his friends really made him dazed and frightened.
第三: 在他逃跑期间，来自他朋友的指导意见使他晕炫，让他感到害怕。
"Run downhill!" suggested the cows.
"Run toward me!" yelled the gander.
"Run uphill!" cried the sheep.
"Turn and twist!" honked the goose.
"Jump and dance!" said the rooster.
"Look out for Lurvy!" called the cows.
"Look out for Zuckerman!" yelled the gander.
"Watch out for the dog!" cried the sheep.
"Listen to me, listen to me!" screamed the goose.
