First time Apple WWDC

Just want to write down sth and record WWDC experience. I attend Apple WWDC15 as a student scholarship receipt, which is offered to 350 stidents worldwide. I make friends with students from various country, such as Russia, Germany, Australia, and other states(New Jersey dominated==). I will keep writing the experience and funny thing chronologically until the end of WWDC(6.12).

0. Before WWDC student scholarship orientation(6.5–6.6)

I flied one day earlier because I suddenly want to play DOTA2 with jianan xing. Jianan and I asked two Russia scholar receipts and went to Golden bridge, UCB, Stanford(again), Google. The coolest thing is that I experienced exactly same slide as the internship movie. By the way, golden bridge is extremely cold and cloudy! As for UCB and Stanford, I prefer Stanford as always in my mind. Stanford University is the best university worldwide. Two Russian guys were also excited because they watch the iOS course online at Ituens U from Stanford professor. It’s kind of like that one years ago they learn from online Stanford but right now they stand on the real Stanford campus. See, power of sharing knowledge. It was also funny that we let alex try spicy food at laozhao restaurant. Bomb!

1. WWDC student scholarship orientation(6.7)

There was a orientation for students who receive the wwdc scholarship. It was a chance for each one to meet the most genius young people all over the world. Are u kidding me? The youngest scholar is only 12 year old!!! When I was 12, I was just playing and even reading books. They are able to learn how 2 design and develop App. It was crazy and I don’t even know if it’s a good thing or bad thing. I mean, you need to try some stupid and funny thing and then pursue the major knowledge thing like programming.

You guess what? The last good thing is that I have one photo with TiM Cook, the CEO of Apple. Sounds cool?! I also take photos with almost all Apple leadership except for the online store SVP, who jump from Babeery CEO(Ops what’s the name) to Apple SVP. By the way, I really like craigy,SVP of software engineering. The rock star!!! Post photos later.

2. keynote day(6.8)

Someone said that if we don’t wait in the line at 12pm, then we won’t have chance to watch on-spot-scene keynote. So, after watching ALOHA movie, we just wait in the line from 11pm, and there were already 100 people, the majority is student. Of course, we’re energetic and we talked all night about the fun life and schools. Some high school student still have the finals after the conference. Theoretically, that was the night I expected. But!!!, life is always hard. I could only stay up until 3am and then go back to my airbnb house. No wonder I am the 70% oldest student =_=. By the way, I need to admit that airbnb house and host were super super nice! But, I lost the keys of house = =. Awkward…

Back to the keynote itself, it was fantastic because it was not the live stream in ur laptop. It was real and just a few yard in front of you. I AM NOT AN APPLE FUN. But it was good and they are going to open source swift language. I was so lucky to learn it last year(actually, I don’t know too much about it, but I won the student scholarship(350/worldwide~~~)). Jealous on myself… Lucky enough.

The last thing is that Alex was so lucky to get reported by Apple and other press. The student are showing off the App that lead them to apple wwdc. I have no idea where I was!!! I was following Alex all the time.

Here we go. The night party with Pinterest and automatic. I only have one word. Nice talk! The coffee was treated by my manager, he was showing off with his friends that his mentee got the scholar. I DON’T know people really take it as a good honor until I went to SF.

3. WWDC weekday2 (6.9)

Today I went to Golden Bridge again by walking from mosconcenter. Not too much to say, just showing the pictures. By the way, I have one chance to meet Cory and Cameron, the coo of after school App. I don’y know much about that app before. It was sosososo cold!!!

Look at the change of my clothing. The 3 girls are wearing the same type clothing. SO cute.

4. airbnb HQ day and Jurassic world movie night (6.11)

That day I first watched the season event. The picture showed, NSFW Objective-C is the only one open-source project that mentioned in this WWDC. Then I went to Airbnb HQ to have a tour. I really like their desk and every thing about it.

Then I backed to LA. Watched movie with sining chen. Jurassic World at Chinese Theater Star line. The IMAX movie was fantastically good!

5. WWDC ends and I am not there ==, exercise game with sam, andrew and shisui.(6.12)

The WWDC ended and the following is that Tim Cook, Phil and XXX met with scholars, I think I was in the right corner somewhere.

The final thing is the picture of Craig, SVP of software engineering. Rock star and cool guy!!!

The very last thing is the badge signed by Tim Cook. I have no idea what he wrote down on it. Guessing: “Best, Tim Cook” =_=.
