Yesterday I just finished Baicizhan's daily task, of almost 40 English words and ten more of Lucy's YouTube lessons.

Today I will go on to finish all English tasks. I feel very well now because I am making progress.

I want to share with you some ancient Chinese history, Shangyang reforming.

About 2300 years ago, at that time, the Qin state was so poor and weak because of the long-term war with the Wei state. Duke Xiao of Qin was worried about his state's future.  They would die if they did nothing to change.

The state policy was so bad, that the ordinary people fought well but they couldn't be the nobility because they were ordinary even if they made much effort for their state, and a nobility's son could be nobility only if his father was nobility, that's not fair.

The people didn't believe the government, and the government had no prestige in their people.  As a result, people didn't want to fight for the state but for their private fight.

Duke Xiao of Qin made Shangyang the premier to reform his state. Shangyang is the Legalists. So he made so many laws to ban the bad action and reward the good action. All of the people must obey the new Qin state laws, even the nobility. He would punish everyone who violated the laws even you are the Duke's brother .

As the saying goes,Punishment for wrongdoing does not spare ministers, and reward for good deeds does not spare ordinary people.

They focus two things,farming and war. Farming for the food to feed more army. And war for get more land from other state to farming and more people.

After 20 years reforming, Qin state became so strong , beat the Wei state, back so much miss-land from Wei state.

I think it's the same to English learning. If you can keep on learning and practicing, you will be good at English.
