Vocabulary:
impervious: adj. 不受影响的,无动于衷的;不能渗透的。-not allowing entrance or passage; not capable of being damaged or harmed; not capable of being affected or disturbed.

gullible: adj. 易受骗的;轻信的。- easily duped or cheated
e.g. I'm not gullible enough to believe something that outrageous.

rehabilitate: vt. 使康复;使恢复名誉;使恢复原状;vi. 复兴;复权;恢复正常生活。- to restore to a former capacity; to restore to good repute; to restore to a former state (as of efficiency, good management, or solvency); to restore or bring to a condition of health or useful and constructive activity.
e.g. He's still rehabilitating the knee he injured last summer.
The country has rehabilitated its image since the war.
inmate: any of a group occupying a single place of residence; especially: a person confined (as in a prison or hospital) n. 同住者。(尤指)同院病人;同狱犯人;同被(收容所)收容者。
Phrase and Expressions:
1. dry wit 冷幽默;冷嘲;讽刺
a. The ability to criticise someone and have them laugh about it;
b. Humour that soars over the headsof your less intellectual friends;
c. Cutting sarcasm cleverly masked as a lighthearted joke; the epitome of Oscar Wilde.
2. be an item: [informal] If two people are an item, they are having a romantic relationship.
e.g. I saw Darren and Emma there. Are they an item?
3. come forward: to say openly or publicly that one is the person who should get something or who can do something. 主动站出来,自告奋勇,挺身而出。
e.g. No one has yet come forward to claim the reward.
Several people came forward to offer their assistance.
4. save somebody's bacon: (mainly British informal) to save someone from failure or difficulties. 解救某人摆脱困境等。
