I love Spring Festival. When you are a kid, you can receive red pockets from your family. But right now, I become the person who give the red pockets.
My family have back to my mother’s hometown during the Spring Festival. In China, we call it as “回娘家”.
My mother’s hometown is in the countryside. Fields with different growing, snow mountain, many U-turn roads, sometimes it’s more convenient to travel with the motor than a car.
Everything seems to be fresh to every year, except the people you gonna meet, which is your family.
But this year, people also changed for me.
Her likes even more than the total number of my WeChat friends.
I carry the 年货 and my big smile, get into the gate. I see my grandma was sitting in the wheel chair. My grandma didn’t reply me. She just smiled to me. And my mother asked her： “This is Zeng Yanqi, your granddaughter, can you remind her?”
My grandma still smiled to us and say “No. I don’t think so.”
I was freaking shocked cause every time when saw her, she gonna call my name and came to me. Then she gonna hold my hands and talked to me.
So I louder my voice and said “ Grandma, it’s me, Nami.” And with expectations, “ Could you recognize me? No makeup, no photoshop and even no change with my haircut.
“No, I am sorry I can’t recognize it.”
She said slowly with her warm smile.
But it feels like the light outside the window. I feel so sad at that moment. Like a door opened during the party. One side of the door is your party and the other side is the North Pole. Make me wanna cry.
The family gathering is always be the most lovely time during festival.
The young generation has take me to the nearest town to try the local snacks and explore funs. Also, sharing the happiness and sorrows of last year. And one regulate things : Level up the pressure for marriage to the generation in my age.
The very first question：
“Do you have boyfriend”
If you said No, they gonna push you get find a guys.
If you said YES, guess what?

But what ever the topics are, it’s the time for family members to carings. This makes us feel connected to each other. We are family!
Even my grandma, she can’t remember our name. She also enjoyed the time and this lady has acted like child. Move her body like this, move forward and back

Cause we know family gathering time always limited.
Next day after gossips. Time to leave.
I really hate it. I prepared the red pocket for my grandma and she said “ Don’t give to me. I don’t need money.”
And I gave her a hug and told her “I will miss you, grandma.”
She wipes her eyes and start to cry.
The tears just welled up from my eyes and this emotion has overwhelmed me.
I felt like, this is the very last time to give her a hug.
At the moment, I can feel her love even she can’t call my name.
I love Spring Festival more than before. Not for the how much the money I received from my red pockets. It is my family make me feel be loved and tightly bonded with someone. Someone even you can not call her name, but you still love her deeply in your mind.
People will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.
