为什么“一刀切”的流程会引发反噬【适得其反】
Why “One-Size-Fits-All” Processes Backfire
人们通常认为,最好的项目领导者是那些将每一个细节都安排得有条有理并始终处于掌控之中的人。
People often think that the best project leaders are those who have organized every detail and are always in control.
事实上,情况往往相反。
In fact, it’s often the opposite.
最有效的项目领导者是那些管理、指导团队但放弃对细节控制的人。
The most effective project leaders are those who direct their teams but relinquish control of the details.
他们创建了足够的指导结构【进行指导】,同时灌输主人翁责任感。
They create just enough structure to guide, while instilling a sense of ownership.
他们知道,用不必要的流程和清单使得他们的团队不堪重负,以获得控制感是一种软弱【疲软、懦弱】的迹象。【以上几句说的就是领导和管理的区别。】
They know that inundating their teams with unnecessary processes and checklists in order to feel a sense of control is a sign of weakness.
相反,他们有力量信任和依靠自己的团队来完成工作。
Instead, they have the strength to trust and lean on their teams to get the job done.
坚强的项目领导者根据团队的需要对流程进行个性化设置,以便能平衡控制和自主。
Strong project leaders personalize the process to the team’s needs so they can balance control and autonomy.
使用这种方法,他们可以以最高的效率完成最好的工作,并享受做这项工作的最美好的时光。【 就是我们所说的,干的很辛苦很流汗,但是干得很开心很起劲儿。】
Using this approach, they produce the best work, with the most efficiency, and have the best time doing the job.

I worked on a site redesign project several years ago where we applied a personalized, lightweight process with success.

That project, to date, is still one of the most ambitious and complex projects I’ve encountered.

All told, there were five development teams and numerous other supporting people from stakeholder groups who would need to work together to make it happen—close to one hundred people moving at top speed.
