【文献解读】|Arabidopsis EF-Tu receptor enhances bacterial disease resistance in transgenic wheat

背景:

1.Arabidopsis PRR EF-Tu receptor (EFR) belongs to the LRR-RKfamily XII and recognizes the bacterial PAMP elongation factor Tu (EF-Tu) and its derived peptide elf18.

FLAGELLIN SENSING 2 (FLS2) belongs to the leucine-rich repeat (LRR)-RK family XII and recognizes flg22

elf18: an epitope within the bacterial elongation factor Tu (EF-Tu)

flg22:an epitope within the most conserved region of bacterial flagellin

A key signalling component acting down stream of AtFLS2 and AtEFR is the co-receptor SOMATIC EMBRYO-GENESIS RECEPTOR KINASE3/BRASSINOSTEROID-ASSOCIATED KINASE1 (SERK3/BAK1).

2.In Arabidopsis, the LysM domain receptor kinase (RK) CHITIN ELICITOR RECEPTOR-LIKE KINASE 1 (CERK1) is the PRR for chitin (Miya et al., 2007; Wan et al., 2008). In rice , both the LysM domaincontaining receptor-like protein (RLP) CHITIN ELICITOR BINDING PROTEIN (CEBiP) and CERK1 are required for chitin recognition and to mediate resistance to fungal pathogens.CEBiP and CERK1 also play an important role in chitin recognition and fungal resistance in wheat (Lee etal., 2014).

3.Pseudomonas syringae pv. Oryzae:bacterial pathogen of cereals causing halo blight.
