Kakuji
By Zhou Binglang
Drizzle in the morning, if there wasn't
Kakuji had forgotten
actually, that fish died early in the spring
That day,
Kakuji just got back from a trip to Chiba
and saw the fish had died in the blue-and-white porcelain tank
....
Always, there's a mosquito to visit him at midnight
Was it the one he killed in the dark just the other day?
Kakuji remembers very clearly
still in a dream
Gyomiko had almost no smile
her shoulders were getting thinner
white smooth skin just like snow.
