reflections

His mother once said,“Learn from your past and be better because of your past, but don’t cry about your past. Life is full of pain. Let the pain sharpen you, but don’t hold on to it. Don’t be bitter.”  She learned to live with pain. She never complained about the deprivations of her youth or the betrayals of her parents. She just take it. This is what I admire.

At high school, there were students and students. The school was very strict. The only difference was that every time some failed, they bounced back.I was one of them. I passed through a terrible ordeal that never want again. However, what didn't kill me make me stronger.

summary

He was nine years old when his mother threw him out of moving car to avoid the violence from a bus driver. It is just a small part of the difficulties of this book.

Apartheid’s walls cracked and crumbled over many years. Before that ,in South Africa, his mother was the rebel , refusing to adhere to the unlogical apartheid system. She never complained about the deprivations of her youth or the betrayals of her parents. My mother wanted to get out from the shadow of her family, so she ran away the gettho and came into the city. She determined to sleep in public restrooms and rely on the kindness of prostitutes until she could make her own way in the world. She was lucky to pick up English and typing, which gave her job opportunities.Nothing allowed her to grab hold of the bottom rung of the white-collar world. She gave her son the childhood that she never had. As modestly as they lived , he never felt poor for what his mother educated him.
