It’s a raining day today. So I was awake later. First thing, I looked at my phone. There is a picture jumped up from my Wechat group. “Keep calm and eat shepherd’s pie. ” And then, I was salivating. I typed the words “ We eat it for brunch today,ok?” The guys all agreed with me.
今天早上外面下着雨,所以醒得有点晚。一睁眼就拿起手机,一张照片从我的小群里跳出来。“Keep calm and eat shepherd’s pie”,看着图片,我咽了下口水,迅速地在群里面敲了下面的文字“We eat it for brunch today,ok?” 他们都没意见。
So I googled some recipes and wanted to try one. You know, this is the first time I hear this food. But I think this will be easy for me. Actually, this meal was successful. So I also want to share my recipe for you.

Shepherd’s Pie is also called cottage pie. It’s a pie of minced red meat with a topping of mashed potato. It’s a traditional British food. The recipe has many variations, the key ingredients are minced red meat cooked in sauce with onions, and topped with a layer of mashed potato before baking. Sometimes other vegetables, such as peas, celery or carrots, are added to the filling. Now I’ll share you a basic recipe. You never fail it even you are a fresh cook.
牧羊人派也叫cottage pie,这是一种用碎肉馅儿上面盖上土豆泥的派。是一种传统的英式菜。牧羊人派的食谱很多样,但最关键的食材是用酱和洋葱炖的碎红肉,上面封上一层厚的土豆泥,再放入烤箱烤。有时候会加入一些其他的蔬菜,比如豌豆、芹菜或胡萝卜。我现在要分享的是一个基本的食谱,就算你是一个新手也零失败哦。

minced beef 碎牛肉 350g
onion 洋葱 1 piece
Garlic 大蒜 4 small pieces
tomato 番茄 2 middle sized ones
tomato sauce 番茄沙司 2 spoons
red wine 红酒 2 spoons
fresh basil leaf 新鲜的罗勒叶 a few leaves
grounded black pepper 黑胡椒碎 a few grams
avocado oil 牛油果油 1 spoon
salt 盐 a few grams

Step 1, peel the potatoes, and put them into cool water, boil potatoes about 40 minutes.

Step 2, prepare the stuffing. Chop the garlic, cut the onion and tomato into small pieces.

When tomato turns soft, put two spoons of tomato sauce and two spoons of red wines into it, add some hot water, and grounded black pepper, fresh basil leaves, and boil it about 30 minutes with low heat. Check it frequently.
第三步,热锅,加入牛油果油(其他的食用油都可以)是,加个大蒜煸出得香味,然后放入洋葱,当洋葱的香味出来后,加入番茄,炒到番茄变软,加2大勺番茄沙司,2大勺红酒,加入热水,加入现磨黑胡椒、新鲜的罗勒叶,小火炖30分钟左右,其间需要经常查看一下防止烧干了。
Step 4, when the potatoes are turn soft and mashy, take it out, mush the potatoes. Put the butter, milk and grounded black pepper in and stir well.
第四步,当土豆用筷子可以戳动的时候,取出来,捣烂。加入黄油、牛奶和现磨黑胡椒,搅拌至顺滑。
Step 5, while the moisture is about dry up, the stuffing are done, put some salt, and taste. Take the stuffing out of the pot and pour into a baking pan, then cover with the mashed potatoes. Flat the cover and press the pattern on it with a fork.
第五步,当炖锅里的水快烧干时,馅儿就好了,加一些盐调味。把炖好的馅儿从炖锅倒入一个烤盘中,铺平,上面盖上做好的土豆泥,抹平土豆泥,再用叉子压出花纹。
Step 6, Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius. Bake for 30 minutes until it is lightly browned.
