You may think of a well known saying in a famous movie<The pursuit of happiness> , don't let anybody else tell you that you can't do something, you have a dream, you gotta protect it. This is what the inspiring Dad told his son on the basketball playground. He tried to teach his son how to protect his own dream from others. But today, I use this sentence as my speech's title not to tell you to protect your dreams from others, but from you, yourself.

Yes, you heard me right. You are the biggest obtacle on your way pursuing dreams.

Let's recall how many times you set up your minds to do something and give up everytime you felt a little tired of disappointed. And how many times you try to start over but fail to get up the next morning.

You want to be pretty yet stay up late until 3 in the morning, You want to read more books yet end up following more Korean dramas. You want to make more friends  yet instead, you stay in your bedroom all day long and live on takeout food.

Your body is so lazy and you brain is so ticky that it helps you muddle through the terrible life you are actually leading.

You see, no bodyelse cares about you that much, and of course they don't have the time to stop you from chasing your dreams. Youare the one who create the problems.

So, if you have a dream, you gotta protect it, from you.

How do we fight ourself, this big enemy.

First, we need to see what kinds of weapon the enemy got. There are 3 typical ones.Laziness, fear, and excuse.In fact, there is one more, but you guys are from 007 and you sacrifice your saturday night, maybe your dating night to come here, so I'll just asume you were  not the self-content type.

We need to realize these three obstacles are created by our minds so we gotta use the same kind of medicine, our imagination.

Laziness,I'm sure we are qiute familier with this friend. Life can be hard and can be easy in this time, cause we can get enough food and kill time by playing with our phones watching vedios on Douyin, Kuaishou or something. So if you want to live like pigs, congratulation, you kind of achieved your goal. All I'm saying is you are really easy to get stuck in laziness cause it costs so little in the short time. You need to imagine something big and exciting to cheer up your mind, not just the images, but vivid scenes. For example, if you want to be rich, imagine you have a lot of money is not enough, you most imagine that you are in a Ferrari, taking your girlfriend, holding a glass of Champagne, head to a the shore, the breeze go through your hair and your girlfriens's happy face. You know what I mean, imagine you are already there in your beautiful future life, the more details in it, the more possibility it will come true. It's so sparkle that you yearn to get it. That's when you get the motivation of working hard.

Fear.You have fear because you are afraid of what might happen and you can't stand it. But you know humen are incredible in adapting and acepting. So if you're so scared, you can imagine the worst situation after you've done something. For example, when I was considering quiting my job, I was a little afraid, so I thought, I will not die anyway, what could've been worse. But if I don't try to make the change, I will get stuck forever, so I resigned without hesitation. In fact I haven't done full English speeches much, this is just my second time, and my first to host a meeting like this. Then I imagined I got stuck and forgot everything I prepared and had to finish the speech as a table topic with my stumble sentences. That is so embarrassed. I imagined the worst situation which is proved not that scary. So the medicine I suggest here is the imagination of the worst.

Excuse.I don't want to cover up for ourselves. Human beings are really easy to forget and forgive. Forget the pains and forgive mistakes. Science proved that this helps the human kind to live and have offsprings. Like fear, excuse to our mistakes protect us from hurt somehow. But you want to be elite, you gotta get rid of most instincts. So when you make mistakes, you don't bluff it out, you do everything you can to fix it, if you can't, go through the mistakes and try hard to find out reasons and try not to make the same mistakes again. Be tough to yourself, cause trust me, you can't find anybady else who can pay more attention on yourself than you do. The medicine to excuse is to avoid it in the first place, like antibiotic.

So those are all my suggestions of how to protect you dream from youself. Imagine good result to defeat laziness, bad result to break fear, face the truth and say no to excuse.

No matter how useful my advices are, the most efficient mehtod is the one you actually use.
