Part 2 Thoughts
I kept waiting for it to be a trick ,for them to turn and say ,"It's you!" They didn't . At a certain point, I felt so invisible I almost wanted to take credit . I wanted to jump up and point at the TV and say ,"Are you people blind?" That's me! Can you not see that that's me?!" But of course I didn't . And they couldn't. These people had been so fucked by their own construct of race that they could not see that the white person they were looking for was sitting right in front of them .
刚开始，我还以为这些校长和警察都是在故意装模作样，想让TREVOR自己主动承认。但是看到这里才发现原来不是这样的。 这些人都是不看脸，只看“颜色”的。在黑白屏幕下，TREVOR light colour 相对比TEDDY black ,自然就成了white . Trevor在忐忑中躲过了一节。貌似，是这种强烈的种族观念这次反而救了他，要不可能TREVOR就得被迫退学，从此为生活艰辛奔波，也就没有今天的TREVOR了？
这个小小的商店行窃风波，也再次让我们看到了，南非种族观念的根生蒂固。
Part 3 Summary
The chapter writes a story about shoplifting . Trevor and Teddy were very good friends and thick as thieves. They always walked home together after school . And every weekend , they'd walk to the shopping mall and hang out . Occasionally , they found that they can steal something from one stationery shop very easily . They did and felt they'd hit the jackpot. So later they went for it every weekend till one mall cop found them . Finally , Teddy was arrested and Trevor escaped luckily . Teddy'd given Trevor a solid alibi. Afterwards, Trevor always felt upset when the investigate went on . He thought they discovered him and were waiting for his confession. But he was wrong . Nothing happened , the principal ,teachers and police thought there should be another white kid doing with Teddy as from black-and-white screen another kid looked like white . They had been so fucked by their own construct of race ,even not to see what that face looks like .
