The flickering candle light adds a sense of mystery to the middle-aged man named Knightley, who is well dressed in black overcoat with white silk scarf tied in his neck. He is apparently in his 40s telling by his receding hairline and deep-carved forehead wrinkles. Yet he looks somewhat younger--clean-shaven, with finely-cut features and ripple after ripple of candle light in his brown hair speaks of his sound physical state. His high-bridge nose, well-defined thin mouth, chiseled jaw as well as two lines down the sides of his nose to the mouth indicates his strong will. However he is anything but a boring gay demonstrated by his flying eyebrows and the glistening flash of curiosity in his double-eyelids eyes. Obviously, he is deeply indulged in something fascinating and fixing all his attention to someone next to him.
