最近在扇贝听力上发现了一本实用又好玩的听力书，叫《VOA单词掌故》，为了帮助自己在完成每日听力任务后能够进行深入复习巩固今日所学，也为了能分享笔记给一起学习的小伙伴，特地建立了新文集，把每天的笔记和自己补充的知识点整理在简书上，如果有其他同伴，欢迎加入学习的队伍！
今天听的是第一章，一共49个句子，内容并不难。本章内容随着主播讲述的一个小故事缓缓展开，而本章节的主要内容，也就是与数字one的相关内容，正好都悄悄藏在这故事里面。话说，这故事听起来好像是个浪漫的爱情故事~~~
以下是听力内容和我补充的笔记：

初学英语的时候，老师说单词在句子中的首字母必须大写，再后来发现有些单词是永远大写的，还有些大小写的时候意思还都不一样，再再后来就出现了以上的这种情况，在句中大写，一大还好几个，这下我就懵了。
我估计跟我当年一样一脸懵逼的瓜娃子肯定还有，那我们就一起来回顾一下大写的用意撒~：1.用于句的句首。这也就是我们最先掌握的用法；2.缩写。3.增加易读性，这点往往体现在一些招牌和标签上。4.在某些语言中，有强调作用。5.人名地名等专有名词。6.另外，姓氏完全大写有助于辨认，因为不同地区有不同的习惯表示姓名。（以上整理自360百科）

start with表示”从......开始“，我们来补充一下start常见的固定搭配：
at the very start 一开始
for a start作为开始；首先
from start to finish 自始至终；从起点到终点（我们也可以用from the beginning to the end来表达）
start a solo run单刀赴会(这个翻译可真有意思，哈哈哈哈~~~~）
start off 开始旅行；以......开始；迅速跑开
start的短语太多，我只列举了最常见的几个，咱们有的放矢，慢慢来~~~
"Numbers can be tricky."
tricky adj.”机警的；狡猾的“，我们熟知的电影《整蛊专家》英文翻译就是Tricky Brian，是不是很形象？
这个词的名词形式是trick，表示”戏法；把戏；计谋；诡计；花招；诀窍；技巧“，当然它也可以作为动词使用，表示”哄骗；欺骗；打扮“，甚至还可以直接用作形容词，表示”用于特技的；有意捉弄人的“，所以tricky和trick作为形容词用时，其实还是有差别的，千万别用错了！

”On the other hand, they have meanings.“
on the other hand就是”另一方面“啦~~
meaning n.”意义；含义；意图“ adj.”意味深长的“ v.”意味，意思是“（mean的现在分词）
不同的”意义“应该怎么表达呢？这里我整理了三个词一起归纳复习：
meaning：普通用词，使用广泛。既可指语言表达的意思，又可指手势、符号、表情或艺术品或抽象概念所含的意义。
implication：指暗含的意思。
sense：特指词、短语或者句子的某种特定意思。也常指多种解释的一种。

”Many people consider themselves number one, the most important person.“
number one 自己；重要的；头号的
”They are always looking out for number one and taking care of number one.“
这里出现了几个短语，我们来复习一下：
look out 最常见的意思就是”留神；注意“，在口语中我们还可以用watch out来表示同样的意思
take care of 照顾，照料
”It is as if they are the one and only person on earth.“
as if 是初中阶段的一个高频考点，表示”好像“
”Some people however, are not so self-centered.“
”My brother is such a person.“
such同样也是一个初中的高频考点，表示”这样的；如此的；这么大的；非常的；这样的事物（人）“
我们来学习一下它的常见短语和习惯用语：
ever such很；非常；极其
such a night这样一个夜晚；好一个晚上；这样的夜晚
such a shame真羞耻
such as it is 不过如此；尽管不怎么好
such as to 到如此程度以致；像这个样子因而
such that 如此......以致

try to do sth.努力做某事；尽力做某事

”He is such a nice person.
All his friends like him.
They consider him one of the boys.“
one of the boys，口语当中用来表示”玩友之一；爱好者团队之一员“。
”Recently, my brother had a bad day at the office.
It was just one of those days.“
one of those days 表示”那些日子；美好的一天；倒霉的一天“
而one of these days却表示”总有一天“，用于许诺，它们的不同的用法你get到了吗？
”Nothing went right“
go right表示”正常运转“
”So he stopped at a local bar—a drinking place—after leaving work.“
stop at表示”住宿；逗留在；对......有所踌躇“
"My brother planned to have a glass of beer with his friends—a quick one—before he went home.
But a quick one turned into one or two, and soon those became one too many."
以上两个句子都提到了 a quick one，它表示”匆匆一口喝下去的酒“。
”As my brother was leaving, he ordered a last drink—one for the road.“
one for the road表示”离别前的最后一杯酒“，路上喝的，完美的再来一杯的理由~~
”His friends became concerned.
One by one, they asked him if he was able to drive home safely.“
one by one 一个接一个
”Now my brother is a wise and calm person.
He is at one with himself.“
at one with oneself表示”清醒的“，不过在我看来，大家喝醉了最爱说的一句话就是”我没醉！“
”He recognizes when he has had too much alcohol to drink.
So he accepted an offer for a ride home from a female friend.
At one time in the past, my brother had been in love with this woman.“
at one time表示”曾经；一度“，你看嘛，这是个爱情故事来着，不过那句歌怎么唱来着”我曾喜欢你，想到就心酸“，单词不好背吗？串不好撸吗？剧不好刷吗？为什么要谈恋爱？
”She is a great person—kind, thoughtful and intelligent—all good qualities rolled up into one.“
roll up one表示”合为一体“，这么说也不是所有的前任都是渣嘛~
”But sadly their relationship did not work.
He always used to say "One of these days, I am going to marry this girl." But that never happened.“
one of these days在上文中我提到的，表示”总有一天；如今；近日；不久“等，在这里再次复习一下哟！
”For one thing, she did not love him as much as he loved her.“
for one thing表示”首先；一则“，这是个悲伤的爱情故事啊！
”It was just one of those things.“
one of those things表示”命中注定的事，不可避免的事“，命中注定的事有这么多吗还用those？突然觉得人生让我好惶恐~~
”The situation was regrettable and my brother had to accept it.
But even now, he considers her the one that got away.“
the one that got away表示”弃人而去“，你伤害了我，还一笑而过~~
”However, they are still friends.
And because my brother had been kind to her, she felt that one good turn deserves another.“
one good turn deserved another表示”善有善报“，那么问题来了，你觉得分手后还能做朋友吗？我觉得，做牛做马都不能做朋友了。
”He was good to her and she wanted to help him in return.So she drove him home.“
in return表示”作为回报“
”If my brother had driven home from the bar that night, his number would have been up.“
one's number is up 表示”某人节数已尽；轮到某人遭殃；某人完蛋了“，为啥我只会想起小时候到了年底被撕得干干净净的日历？
”Something bad would have happened.
Thankfully he made it home safely.
And, he and the woman are back to square one.
They are back to where they started—being friends.

be back to square one表示”恢复原状“，故事是个happy ending，但是我告诉你，人生才不会那么简单！
故事已经讲完了，知识点不知不觉也补充了一大堆，对我个人而言，感觉吃了一顿面条之后又补了顿火锅，anyway，希望对你有用！
最后，今天的标题《叫我第一名》其实是一个非常不错的电影，讲述了关于一个“身残志坚”的青年的故事，我一定要用这个词形容他吗？是的！
该片改编自布莱德·科恩与丽莎·维索基合著的同名书籍。讲述了主人公因患有先天性妥瑞氏症，使他的生活备受折磨。但是他始终乐观向上，默默努力，最终成为一位出色的老师，同时也找到了属于自己的爱情 。（这一段抄自百度，我已经精疲力尽了，原谅我~）
