Sure, My english name is Evan, I’ve been working on Android since 2008 — mostly on android frameworks and App development. For the past 6 years, I have been working at Alibaba group. In the first 3 years, I led a software team for Youku app which is the chinese version of youtube and I work as android software expert for Shuqi app in the latest 3 years. this app is a online reading app. Before joining Alibaba group, I did software development for about 10 years at Motorola, Taiwan Mediatek semiconductor company, Intel windriver and a chinese internet app company called Qihu 360. Especially, When I worked at windriver, I had overseas work experience opportunity in Europe. our team, with tomtom company's software team, developed navigation software for renault's electric car project in eindhoven, the netherlands."
For my study experience, I got a bachelor's degree and master's degree at Beijing institute of technology. and my major is mechanical and electronic engineering and bionic robot technology.

talk about future.

in the future, I plan to immigrate to Canada to start new career and life with family. There are some reasons. 1. My son is in the second grade of elementary school this year. My wife and I hope that he will go to university in Canada or the United States in the future. 2. Age anxiety is common in China's employment market, and it's difficult for software engineers over 35 to find a good job opportunity. 3. I believe that the economic development in North America will be better in the future, compared to China. so I hope that my family and I will live in Canada in the following years.

talk about some challenge.

Regarding the work, I need to deal with 2 things. One is language, although I have worked at Motorola and Windriver for a few years after graduation, I also use English in weekly meetings with foreign software teams. but in the past 6 years, I have little chance to use English at alibaba group. so I need to adapt to the english working environment quickly. the Second is my software skill stack. currently I use java for android app development. but some new UI framework suck as jetpack compose is not used at our company and most of the Chinese companies. However, I noticed that compose has been widely used abroad, so I need to learn some new skills if needed.

Regrading the life, I need to familiar with the local community, especially for new immigrants. but the good news is I keep exercise often and participate in triathlon competitions, I have searched some triathlon clubs in BC, so I may have some new friends here.

talk about how to deal with conflict with team members.

as a team member, I rarely have conflict with others.Everyone bring different perspectives and knowledge to our team. we should respect each other's points of view. but if conflict occurs, I think we should give both sides time and opportunity to present their own perspectives, and give out a solution for current conflict and avoid this kind of conflict occur in the future. I remember once I had a conflict with a UI designer about a design detail at homepage.we misunderstood each other，and the new version of app will be published at app store on the same day, I didn't have enough time to modify, so the conflict occur. finally I modified the UI for the first time and notify the test team wait for about two hour to build the new version of app. after the new version of app published, we got a solution finally. UI designer try to write down all the details in the design draft or send the details in instant messager, so that we can check the history if needed. Second，If I am not sure about a certain detail, confirm it in advance.
Our common goal is to keep working relationships healthy and productive.

What are your strengths and weaknesses

I think my advantage is first of all that I have a strong sense of responsibility and can complete the tasks with high quality and quantity. Secondly, I have a better personality and my colleagues like to work with me, that makes the working environment healthy and productive. Therefore, in my second year after joining Alibaba group, I was promoted to a team leader.
About my weakness, I like quiet working environment. If there is lots of noise around me, I am easily distracted. Therefore, when I focus on coding, I wear headphones sometimes.

Tell me a time you are under a lot of pressure, how to deal with it.

About 3 or 4 years ago on New Year's Day, Chinese President gave a New Year's speech show on that day, but operation team found that the danmaku function could not be forbidded when the show was going on, which caused high policy risks. If there were some sensitive and negative comments during the speech, and operation team did not delete them in time. our app may be punished by government. and This bug was introduced in the previous version and was not discovered in time. Therefore, we need to deploy a hot fix to solve it quickly. we quickly fixed the problem and deployed the hot fix code online. Later, we summarized this lesson and conducted additional test case before the start of large events to avoid similar situations from happening.
